The lunar eclipse the other night was beautiful. It's very easy to see the night sky out where we live, a good hour and a half away from the Atlanta city lights. Don't get me wrong being in the city has its advantages...but living in the country does to.
I think many people get surprised to find out that our rehearsal space is actually in a barn. Its right inside a valley in the North Georgia mountains (I use the term "mountains" rather loosely...more like hills really). We are surrounded on all sides by farms and cow pastures...so all the stars usually don't seem to far away when you look up in the sky after our rehearsals. Its a great place to be and a great place to create.
I've done nothing today however, but watch Japanese horror films...eat some pancakes and get my stuff together so that I'm ready for tonight's rehearsal. [Those Japanese horror flix I borrowed from a friend...and I must say, even though I'm probably one of the last to jump on the wagon for that genre, they were perfect] These new songs are incredible, we've nearly replaced all of our old songs in our set with never before heard new material. We're going to debut them all this coming week in Atlanta at Lenny's JAPAN PARTY!!!
It should be a really great time, costume contests, cheap PBR, dance party and live music by us, THE MODERN SOCIETY, Sonen & Judi Chicago. So if you are in town, come down and I'll buy you a drink.
Hope to see you there!
